The rules cover where parents are, how to reach them, identification of visitors, exits and locks, heating and lighting, first aid, contact with doctors, and emergency procedures. The guidance stresses responsible, informed supervision to reduce accidents and keep homes safe during holidays.
The First Congregational Church choir offered a candlelight Christmas program in the chapel on Sunday with Rev. Frederick F. Driftmier reading a meditation. Walter Swanson assisted, Herrmann L. Wilbur directed, and Cora Shaw Anderson accompanied.

Airman Second Class Frank A. Cornell Jr. of 148 High Street has completed a duty tour in the Philippines aboard the General Aultman. He heads to the United States for reassignment and will be stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base New Mexico with the Air Force Special Weapons Center after reporting to Parks Air Force Base California.
Joseph Travers 36 of 72 Richmond Street was fined 75 dollars and costs after pleading guilty to acting as an agent for a lottery in Warren District Court. He admitted running 23 agents in Bristol and handling 2000 tickets weekly linked to Antoine Belanger Sr. and ongoing state police probe of Bou langer's cross state lottery traffic.
The Colt football team, winner of the 1953 R. L. Interscholastic League Class C title with an undefeated slate, will be feted at a 6:30 p.m. banquet Sunday in the White. The Colt Football Jacket Committee sponsors the event and will present jackets funded by a public subscription. Dick Reynolds of the Providence Journal Bulletin will be principal speaker. others include Frank O. Rene, Edward J. Fitzgerald, Carl Carlson, John L. Burke, and more. The drive raised over 850 dollars with several contributors named in acknowledgments.
