On December 22, 1903 readers in Bristol and beyond hailed the Phoenix souvenir supplement. Six thousand copies were printed and quickly nearly depleted, prompting praise from friends and a few notes of mild criticism. The editors admit underpricing but expect public indulgence.
A cautious housewife seasonally replenishes Chamberlain's Cough Remedy noting prompt results when given at first cold indicators. The remedy is said to ward off severe colds, is safe for children, pleasant to take, and sold by W H Buffington.
Mails close and arrive times outlined for Sunday service. Ice cream orders for Xmas urged along with local store ads. Local incidents include a fall injuring Delia Metesier and Antone Massie burns at National India Rubber Co. Eagle Band debut concert at Artillery Hall receives praise and a gift to director Musconte.
Numerous local notices from 1904 describe calendars and cards for sale at Clark’s on State street and W J Fish Co Y M C A building, holiday footwear, and social events. Basketball games at the Y M C A gym feature Bristol Y M C A versus Troop B Militia, with other school and church holiday activities and schedules.
Listings show January programs at Bristol Opera House in Utah including Great Mormon play on Jan 1 and The Eleventh Hour on Jan 12 plus pies and candy sale by Babbitt Women’s Relief Corps on Dec 28 and an entertainment act by Chas Taggart on Jan 18. A G A R Hall hop hosted by Mr Quirk is slated for Jan 6. District Court proceedings include Makowsky v Callan for about $14 and Espinoza v Rhode Islands Company, both continued.
