The public is invited to attend the YMCA Open House on Tuesday January 1 1952 from 1 to 6 p m. The playoff of the final game of the junior boys Holiday Tournament serves as the athletic feature and there will be girls basketball games and other athletic events. Visitors may inspect the Y building and use its facilities.
Colt Memorial High School narrowly loses 40 to 35 to Hope High after a 24 to 14 halftime lead dissolves. Gordie Ambach scores 22 for Hope, Ray Sousa leads Colt with 10 and Colt passes falter in second half as Hope defense clamps down. The Hope Jayvees also beat Colt Jayvees 36 to 20.
The First Bristol Troop will skip Monday meeting and hold its 40th annual Christmas party next Wednesday evening. The four months inter-patrol contest concludes at the party with officials calling it one of the troop’s most hotly contested affairs.
Kingsmen Bugle and Drum Corps with Women's Auxiliary and parents committee extend sale of Christmas trees greens and home made articles to noon next Monday December 24 if stock lasts. Proceeds fund corps equipment new blouses sashes escorts and trousers for drums with drills scheduled Sunday morning and Thursday evening at Scout Hall. Merry Christmas wishes accompany thanks to supporters.
Bristol Senior High School seniors attended the Bristol Rotary Club Christmas dinner with 33 seniors hosted at the White Rail Riding Club. The event included gifts for all seniors and staff, a student program led by Principal John Burke, and performances by Joseph Ferri, Joseph Savino, and August Arruda.

A Junior Girls Basketball League will begin Monday December 24 at 1 p m led by captains Dolores Donato Mary Louise O Gara Charlotte Robinson and Janice Souza. Senior league plans may follow within the week. Saturday morning movies at the Y include Winners of the West Pantry Panic Riding the Crest Bull Fight Bermuda.
