Bristol Fire Dept Pumps Out 125 Flooded Cellars
During heavy rains totaling about 21 inches Bristol mobilized 31 volunteer firefighters to pump out 125 flooded cellars. Chief Edward Borges said crews worked 16 hours from 7 am to 11 pm, aided by DPW Deputy Director Manuel P. Viveiros, with meals provided to sustain volunteers. He urged residents to install sump pumps and operate them properly.
