Obituary of John H. Adams longtime local factory worker
John H. Adams, 78, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at Capt. Macomber’s home in Warren. Born in town he worked for the National India Rubber Co for many years and spent time at Soldiers Homes Togus Maine and Hampton Va. He served in Company K Fifth Artillery during the Civil War. He leaves two daughters Mrs William H. Cheetham and Maria Adams. a sister the late Miss Annie Adams. Funeral was at 2 p.m. yesterday at George M Wilbur’s residence Warren with interment in North Cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs Catherine Mc Carty widow of Dennis Mc Carty fatally burned at her home on Wood Street was held from her residence to St Marys Church for a solemn high mass. Interment followed at St Marys Cemetery with many floral tributes and attendance by relatives and friends. Mrs Mc Carty was a devout St Marys member and neighbors recall her as loving and kind.
