Injury at National India Rubber factory leaves man mangled
Joseph Mello, about 48, injured at work in the wire department of the National India Rubber Co in Rhode Island. His left-hand fingers were badly mangled after a wire machine entangled them. He received first aid and was taken to a Rhode Island hospital where amputation became necessary. The factory physician Dr Alfredsi M Merriman and Dr Oswald R Siegel attended.

Mrs Mary Peck widow of John M Peck died Wednesday at her home 5 Milk Street after a long illness. She was born November 11 1840 in this town and leaves a brother Frank T Remieres and a sister Mrs Eliza LeLois. Funeral services were held at 2 PM at her Milk Street home conducted by Rev O Wallace of the First Baptist Church. Interment was at the North Cemetery.

John P Norton aged 55 dies of pneumonia at Rhode Island Hospital Providence after being admitted Monday. Born Vineyard Haven Massachusetts he worked as an engineer and janitor at the YMCA for three years. He belonged to Martha's Vineyard Lodge Adoniram Royal Arch Chapter Sutton Commandery Knights Templar and is to be buried with Masonic rites from the Church of the Epiphany Providence with services at 2 30 PM tomorrow.
