Bristol School Board approves testing plan and events
The Bristol School Committee under study with Harcourt Brace plans standardization tests for grades 4 through 9 using Stanford formats and independent scoring. In other business, the board approves home basketball use of Andrews Auditorium, Holly Hop event at Colt Memorial Auditorium, and music education festival arrangements with R I music educators. Chimes Installed At St Michaels Church To Use Tape
Chimes being installed in the Cherry Memorial Tower at St Michaels Church will operate by remote control and tape as well as piano keys. Representatives from Larry Hynson Electrical Company work on wiring for automated timing and playback, with a TV console sized tape unit and a small piano console for manual use. Roy P Bailey, organist and director, will oversee the system near the church organ for automatic or manual chimes, possibly ready before Christmas.

Santa Arrives in Bristol by Nike Missile in 2 P M Flight
The North Pole news service reports Santa will land at Prudence Island in Narragansett Bay aboard his sleigh, arriving at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. Bristol Nike Site and Coast Guard Cutter Spar will spot and escort him, then Fire Department will drive him through town to visit houses.

G W Dahl Co Holds Annual Yale Party
G W Dahl Co Inc held its annual Yale Party at Cedar Hall Barrington with Christmas bonuses distributed to all employees. The company president presented pen and pencil sets to seven ten year employees. Mrs Dahl received a bouquet and the president gave $100 to be matched for Barrington College Student Scholarship Fund. The dinner followed by roast tenderloin prepared by Richard Nevins of Barrington College.
