Rhode Island Development Council Highlighted at URI Institute
Harry L. Whitney, director, told about 200 at the fourth annual Institute on Problems of Government at the University of Rhode Island that the Rhode Island Development Council, formed last July, must act quickly to prevent industry from leaving the state. He cited firms relocating and urged urgent action, noting Rhode Island has resources but lacks development and recreation. Prof. John O. Stitely and others spoke on the council’s formation and future steps.
