Teachers Seek Pay Raise From School Board
The Brit 01 Education Association asked the school committee Tuesday night to approve a two-year salary increase for fiscal years 1964-65 and 1965-66, with a proposed minimum of 4 000 and maximum 7 500 for teachers, plus adjustments for master's degrees and additional hours. The proposal also calls for compensation for graduate study and degree steps beyond current levels. The school board debated the request, noting salary limits and the need to balance enrichment and budget constraints. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 45 pm in the Andrews School building.
