Weather and transport notes from North America report
Snow fell Friday near Montreal while Niagara Falls bridge safety is questioned by engineers. Lewiston records its coldest season day in years with frost on low lands. Hartford coal clubs delivered coal for 9.80 per ton against 12 in retail. Ontario harvest proves exceptionally high with 3,000,000 baskets of peaches to market slowly dropping in price. Drought hurts Boston area gardens as cabbage curls and streams dry. A contemporary notes Congress could fail to act.
