Annual BYC Regatta Draws Fleet of 449
The Bristol Regatta drew 449 boats over two windy days in the harbor south of the yacht club. Light winds under 10 mph and shifting breezes hindered racing, with Colby Smith steering Cinnabar to wins on both days. Herreshoff 124s return to form as the Bristol Yacht Club hosts visitors then heads home for next week’s East Greenwich event.

YMCA Day Camp Minor Awards Announced at Yearly Ceremony

The girls division followed with campers certificates Deb orah Travers Diane Wells and others, plus minnows flying fish and shark awards for Patricia Mack and Marcia Bernier.

Stew Causes False Fire Alarm at Mulberry Road Home
Firemen respond to a Sunday call at Mr and Mrs Martin Margo's house on 135 Mulberry Rd after an anonymous report of smoke. No fire found. a pot of meat stew stored in an oven on high produced the smoke. Mrs Murgo, intending to turn the oven off, had set it to high, ruining the stew with no house damage.
