Bristol Town seeks amicable dump site settlement
Citizens propose final attempt to settle landfill dispute with Wardwell and others. Town studies sites including Wardwell land near Soldiers' Home and Martin Hall, seeking low swampy areas with water access to reduce litigation costs and taxes.
Settlement proposal for Minturn Farm zoning and Wardwell site
A group urges the Town Council to revert Minturn Farm zoning and consider using Wardwell land along Martin Hall Road for a town dump. They argue an eight inch water pipe is available for emergencies, the Soldiers' Home and Dr. Martin may not object under conditions, and dumping with bulldozers and salt water is cheaper and avoids litigation. They warn removal if ordered would force locating elsewhere, increasing costs.
