Two Twilight League veterans met in a 2-0 pitchers duel as Foxy Marshall of Ascoli's outdueled Jog Benevides of St. Elizabeth's. Marshall scored the decisive run in the fourth and added an insurance tally in the sixth on Dick Harding and George Corey's hits.

M Leo Elected Commander of Rhode Island Italian American Vets

M Leo of Bristol Post No 1 was elected commander at the three day Rhode Island Italian Americans veterans convention. Gov Pastore spoke as honorary member and several resolutions urged UN sponsorship for Italy, US policy in Korea and price/wage controls. Reverend Alex Peloso gave the benediction at the Crown Hotel event.

Bristol Rangers Postpone Annual Drum Corps Competition

The Bristol Rangers announce postponement of their Shag Parade and dance to Saturday evening and postpone the Third Annual Drum Corps Competition to Sunday at Jamiel Park Warren in honor of two former members killed in World War II. The event features a 3 p.m. start and a 2 p.m. parade, with 75 invited fife drum and bugle corps and music by Buzzy Bisbano and his 14 piece orchestra. Balzano clarified a misattribution in a Phoenix letter regarding concession at Guiteras Field.

Bazaars For Children And Adults At Congo Church

A First Congregational Church bazaar event unfolds tomorrow from 1 p m with an adults Old Fashioned Bazaar on High Street and a separate children bazaar across the street at the Guiteras House lawn.
