Former Officer James Golden arraigned in fatal father slaying

The Bristol County Court housed a crowd as former police officer James Golden was arraigned for the murder of his father Nicholas Golden on August 14. Garden Marauders Target Local Gardens In Torn Town

Joseph Amico of 29 Richmond Street reports his fruit and vegetables destroyed in a torn part of town. Four year old grape vines were pulled up and a threatening letter nailed to a post on his leased property. Ernest W. Weaver, who rents land on Bristol Neck, says tomatoes and beans were stolen. Police seek the offenders.

Probate Court Proceedings Readied For Final Accounts

The Probate Court met with Judge Edward L. Leahy presiding. Final account of Herbert R. Slade as administrator of Charlotte A. G. Slade's estate was allowed. Recording of Samuel Swett's foreign will was allowed. Final accounts of James F. Lavey as administrator with will annexed and his petition for order of distribution were continued to Sept. 17.

Gas rates to rise 5 cents per 1000 cu ft in Rhode Island
