State Encampment at Quonset Point Named Camp Beeckman
The first independent chartered commands encampment in Rhode Island will run August 15 to 21 at Quonset Point. Col. Merton A. Cheesman heads a provisional regiment with details from Providence Warren Bristol Kentish Guards and Warren Artillery. Camp Beeckman will host visitors, meals, and guard details as units gather by electric cars and the Minnie V Pope steamer.

Golden, superintendent of the Vulcanized Products Co of Muskegon Michigan and formerly of this town, announces plans to build a large addition to the plant to manufacture automobile tires and inner tubes. The firm, formed four to five years ago with Chamber of Commerce backing, has expanded from electrical insulation and molded goods to tires and accessories. The new capacity will reach 200 tires and 200 tubes daily, marking a second plant addition in two years.

Lawn Party and Festival for St Elizabeth's Parish
Plans are complete for the third annual lawn party and festival to benefit St Elizabeth's Parish on the grounds north of the church on Wood street. The event features electric lighting, a large tent, an engaged orchestra, and attractive booths. Left for the War as Italian Band Leader Heads to Italy
William Ferrara leader of the Banda Tripola left Providence on the 1.20 train for New York to sail for Italy and join the Italian army. He was farewelled Wednesday night at Italian Hall by many compatriots. Ferrara, Naples Conservatory graduate, had lived in Bristol 14 months and formed the Banda Tripoli. Four Bristol Italians have already departed for Italy to join regiments.

Boy Scouts Vote to Attend St Elizabeth Lawn Party
At a special meeting of the First Bristol Troop of Rhode Island Boy Scouts the group voted to accept an invitation to attend St Elizabeth's Lawn Party tomorrow evening. The scouts and band will assemble in uniform at 7 15 at Headquarters. Inspector John F E England of the Rhode Island Boy Scouts and some regulars are at Mt Hope this week finishing the camp grounds and expect to break camp tomorrow.
