State Guard Inspection Highlights Thirteenth Company
The Thirteenth Company State Guard inspected Friday at the Naval Armory by Col. Alvin H. Barker and Maj. H. E. Bliss. Officers present included Maj. William Knowe Capt. William Braley Lieut. William Thompson and Capt. Arthur Power. Permanent officers named were Captain Fred M. Straight First Lt. Thomas DeCoudres and Second Lt. William Bradford. They will march to Providence for Governor Beeckman’s review on Oct 12 after a 65-man drill.

Town Orders Rabies Muzzle Rule for August
Town Council met Sunday to require muzzling of all dogs for August to curb rabies. Unmuzzled dogs on streets or licensed but not fenced will be taken to the Town Pound for 48 hours or more. Three rabid dogs were shot last month and four people were bitten and under health treatment. Addressed by Health Officer Dr H L Teller.
