Town Council Hears Plan for High Street Curbing
At the monthly meeting Engineer Jewell urged full-length curbing on High Street to ensure durable roadwork and a committee of Jewell and McGovern was formed to devise funding for curb installation. Other items included bridge repairs on Gooding avenue, a new concrete sidewalk on Bourn street, permits for concreteing on Church and Wood streets, and plans to divert surface water into a future Church street pipeline to the harbor.

Col Samuel P Colt in Critical Condition After Stroke
Bristol residents learned Col. Samuel P Colt suffered a paralytic stroke about 12 30 this morning and is in critical condition with little hope of recovery. His sons Russell G and Roswell C of New York were notified and arrived this forenoon. Colt had been ill since returning from Camp Colt near Norcross Maine on June 25 and had suffered a nervous breakdown. He was 69 years old January 10.

Increased Railroad Fares Provokes Regional Protest
Widespread dissatisfaction spreads across the region as the New York New Haven Hartford Railroad plans a zone fare rise from eight to ten cents starting September 1.
