Directional signal law clarifies vehicle requirements
On July 1 1930 a law mandating directional signals for vehicles unable to be steered by hand signals began. Police inquiries prompted a practical rule: if the chance from the center of the steering column to the left lateral extension exceeds 22 inches the vehicle must have an approved signaling system. Fire destroys Colt Farm Dairy Barn upper floor
A morning fire at the Colt Farm dairy barn heavily damages the upper floor of the stone building built in 1916 at nearly a quarter of a million dollars. The blaze, first spotted by Patrolman Henry J. Bristol cars collide at Hope street near Souza station
