President William F Head named chief marshal for a Sunday parade and fourth annual drum corps contest at Guiteras junior high field. Bristol hosts lead the parade, with the competition to start at 3 pm after a 12:30 pm registration and 2 pm parade lineup along Hope, Church and High streets.

Bristol Townies Hold First Meeting At Y M C A

The Bristol Townies football team held its first official meeting at the Y M C A on Monday night. Topics included advertising on game programs to fund an injury pool for medical expenses and the already prepared eighteen game schedule. The next meeting is set for Monday August 4 at 7 30 p.m. at the Y M C A. Men who want to try out are invited.

Dreadnaught Fire Co Sponsoring September Outing

The Dreadnaught Hook and Ladder Fire Company of Bristol will sponsor an outing and clambake for members and guests at Colt Farm Poppasquash on Sunday September 7. A chowder meal at 1 pm and a bake at 4:30 pm will be complemented by a sports program. Committee members include Lt Donald Van Voast chair Charles West and firefighters Luke H White Joseph Quinn and G Elton Pierce. Tickets are available from committee or company members.

Bristol Senior Drum Corps Drives Funds for 1947 Contest

The Bristol Senior Bugle and Drum Corps, veterans of World War II, sponsor a town drive to raise 2500 for new instruments for the September 27, 1947, competition in Southbridge Massachusetts.
