Fred Atkinson becomes superintendent of Plant K. Albert Hartley is no longer connected with the company. Hartley had led Plant H since 1927 and helped merge Cranston Worsted with Collins and Aikman.

Wildlife Group Expands Committee To Forty Members
The executive committee of the local Rhode Island Wildlife Federation group voted to enlarge the committee to 40 members. A bingo party on August 12, proposed by Russell G. Colt and his wife for federation education funds and Bristol schools, was accepted. Seven team captains and five workers per team will meet August 5 at Elm Farm for an instruction dinner where John L. Curran will discuss conservation. Mrs Colt Anthony will assist at the bingo. The State Department of Education sponsors a Sunday 8 pm concert from the Colt Memorial High School facade led by Robert Gray and his band. Proceeds support local efforts led by Prof. George H. Baldwin Town Council President J Floyd Huestis and ex councilman James J Velleca. The program features marches overtures waltzes melodies and descriptive pieces including National Emblem Orange Blossoms Poet and Peasant A Hunting Scene and The Star Spangled Banner.
