Army Navy Day visit to Bristol County plants planned
A group of American war heroes will tour 12 war production plants in Bristol County on Monday then address workers on the Common at 7 pm. Major Alex Smith notes the visits focus on personnel, not inspections, with speeches after each plant call. The program includes a 15 minute band concert and a war equipment demonstration, with Red Cross canteen support and contingency sites if weather acts up.

Defense Council to Improve Fire Fighting Equipment
The council will demo Bristol allocated two trailer pumps at Church street wharf after 2 pm on Sunday led by Fire Chief Moses Moore and Fire Commissioner Henry F. Serbst. It plans no apparatus to Providence parade and reviews daylight air raid drill results from April 17. A statewide daylight drill is planned for May with Rhode Island blackout moved to June. The Franklin Street Garage will recondition the Ever Ready fire truck for a skid pump at an estimated cost of 200 dollars including brake relining and wiring.
