Memorial Day Proclamation by Grand Army of the Republic

Forty Thousand Appropriated At Special Town Meeting

The Special Town Meeting lasted 21 minutes and approved 40000 for sewer expansion east of Wood Street and 5000 to repair Franklin Street. Moderator George A. Arnold opened at 7 30, with a small attendance and no dissent. The Sewer Commission reported estimated costs and contingencies totaling 85000, and the town authorized bonds or notes up to 35000 as needed. A separate resolution appropriated 5000 for Franklin Street and High Street repairs, with notes issued by the Town Treasurer to be retired from unexpended balances.
