Kearney Legion Plans Petition to Bar Bergdoll Return

Commander Francis P. Cuomo of Kearney Post American Legion seeks executive committee approval to circulate a petition. The aim is to bar Grover Cleveland Bergdoll, the World War draft dodger, from re entering the United States despite his offer to serve a five year sentence. Alumni Plans For Annual Bridge Event In Bristol Colt

The Bristol Colt Andrews Alumni Association schedules its annual bridge event for next month. Town Renewing Beach Lease Near Mount Hope Bay

Town can renew its lease on the community beach on the west shore of Mount Hope Bay. Judge Edward L. Leahy approved the renewal sought by Town Solicitor Joseph A. Hammill. The $300 annual lease has served local bathers who favor the site though some deem it distant from the town center. Neighborhood plans consider a new beach closer to the business district, but renewal is indicated.

The Excelsior Tennis Club opens its 50th year with M s Mollie Hammill and Robert W Nelson playing the first match on Number One court.
