Odd Fellows United Brothers Hold Anniversary Service

Members of United Brothers Lodge No 13 and Rebekah Degree Lodge No 12 attended divine service at State Street M E Church in a joint gathering with visiting groups. Rev Dr A C McGilton preached on The Charm of a Useful Life and Cardinal principles of the order. An 98th anniversary of Odd Fellowship will be celebrated Thursday at Odd Fellows Hall with program and guest allowances.

Rector's 50th Anniversary at St Michael's Church

The wardens and vestrymen outlined plans for Rev. Dr. George L. Locke's fiftieth year as rector begun in May 1867. A Sunday May 6 service will mark the anniversary with Bishop Perry delivering the evening sermon. A social reception follows May 15 in the Chapel during the Diocesan Convention on May 15–16. The arranging committee includes Rev. A B Howard Frederic F Gladding Wallis E Howe John W Best James T Robertson and J F Farrally.

Bristol Boy Scouts Plan Scent Garden and Crop Plot

The First Bristol Troop of Rhode Island Boy Scouts seeks land to plant a scent garden and vegetables for the coming season. They plan to divide land so each scout tends a section, growing potatoes corn onions and peas. They lack land and appeal to a public spirited citizen to loan a plot. Troop members are placing recruiting signs on windshields for the Navy League.
