Five Blount ships to launch from Warren yard
Five ships will go down the ways at Blount Marine in Warren over seven weeks from late April to mid June. On April 29 or 30 a 135 foot tanker for the Great Lakes will be launched for West Shore Fuel of Buffalo, which bought Blount’s first contract boat built in 1950. The 750 gross ton twin diesel is the largest yet by the firm, followed by a Lake Champlain ferry, a Mackinac Island ferry, a 65 foot experimental cruise vessel and an automated tug for Moran Towing Co.
