Recreation Board Meets Tonight Over Budget Cuts
The Board of Recreation plans a special meeting to discuss reduced budget requests from the Budget Committee, slashed from 5881 to 3500. Dr Anthony J Ramos says it will be a tough problem as two playgrounds cannot be run on last year’s costs. The board adds a new park at World War Two Memorial Park on Wood Street and faced a 1951-52 deficit of about 200 after relying on a 2100 minimum fund and fundraising by children.
