In Bristol in April 1896 the writer recalls a visit to Dr Leander Tansy a famed humbug who claimed universal expertise. The tale details a mock medical exam using a lighted tube and a stomach pump that ends with a five dollar bill and a call for vacations to cure ills not microbes.
Wash goods include prints ginghams seersuckers and cambrics with table linens and towels. Corsets featured from R G Thompson Warner’s and more with a $0.50 corset as a lead item and discounts on sweater sets previously priced at $2.00 now $1.49.
