Francis Josiah Gladding Dies in East Providence
Francis Josiah Gladding a Bristol native and longtime East Providence resident died at his Russell Avenue home after a brief illness Brights disease was identified as the cause. Born 1845 he married Mary Bowen at 24 and raised four children. He worked in insurance boot making and later headed the Exposition building at a recent Park event. A Mason Royal Arcanum and G A R member he served Bucklin Post No 20 and died leaving a widow four children and a son Louis employed by the government in Washington.

Bristol Town Sells Sewers Bonds at Good Price
The Bristol town treasurer sold 340000 in sewer bonds to Denison Prior Co of Boston for 102.15 with accrued interest. Five bids ranged from 101.06 to 102.15, reflecting strong credit and a favorable market for a small town. The 80 year issue dated Sept 1 1902 matures Sept 1 1982 with semi annual interest and a sinking fund overseen by the Sinking Fund Commission.

Straight Bros orchestra provided music and refreshments were served at intermission.
