Namquit Bowlers End Season With Banquet Program

The Namquit Bowling League closed its first season with a turkey dinner and prize distribution at Odd Fellows Hall. President John Foxy Marshall welcomed attendees and Albert Johnson led the program featuring Tulio Gasperini accordion solos, the Brito twins tap dancing and singing, Friskella’s sleight of hand, and moving pictures by Frank Remieres.

Bristol Garden Club Expands Buy A Tree Campaign

The Bristol Garden Club moves to plant over 100 trees through its Buy A Tree Campaign. Tree Warden Joseph C. Kinder supervises planting with funds raised to about 252.10 dollars. Paddy Makes Things Hum rehearsal nearing end

Rehearsals are nearing completion for the three act comedy Paddy Makes Things Hum to be presented by the St Rita’s Girls Club of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on April 27. In the Guiteras Memoral junior high school auditorium Mrs Vasta La R Ruggiero directs the cast including Mary Rucci Theresa Turillo Emily Delmon ica Mary Turillo Josephine Matur Rose DiCianni Valentino Allesandro Elmer DuPont Ralph DeLeo and Louis Goghia. Joseph F Pannone stage manages the production with scenic effects by local boys under the director. Erasimo Mancini will be master of ceremonies with a nine act intermission between the second and third acts.

Bristol Tragedy Claims First Fatality of New Year

Three year old Edmund Monteiro died after a heavy coal truck backed up in Bristol. The vehicle, driven by his father Mario Monteiro, pinned the boy beneath the rear wheel as three youngsters clung to the truck’s tailboard. Witnesses warned them to step away, but they did not move. Edmund died shortly after reaching Dr A F D’Angelo’s office.
