The Bristol school committee approved turning the area east of Guiteras Memorial High School into a first class athletic field. The Bristol Lions Club proposed funding and partnership to fill and prepare the land, aiming to host football next fall and baseball in spring.

Enterprise launches to sea from Herreshoff shops in Bristol
The sloop Enterprise, built for a yacht defender syndicate including Harold S Vanderbilt and Winthrop W Aldrich, was launched from the Herreshoff south shop in Bristol harbor amid hundreds of spectators and notable guests. Governor Norman S Case and Mrs Aldrich witnessed the ceremony as Mrs Aldrich christened the vessel with champagne. The launch precedes planned races for the America's Cup defending Shamrock V.

Parking Ordinances Put In Force In City Streets
New town ordinances approved at the April council meeting prohibit all day parking on Wood street and intersecting streets between Mt Hope and Bay View avenues. The National India Rubber Co lot south of Franklin Street serves as a parking area with a supervisor directing entries and exits. By noon a dozen violators had been summoned to court for yesterday and last night violations.

New Pastor Officiates At State Street ME Church
