Volunteers sought for Bristol Aircraft Observation Post
Eight volunteers joined about two hundred attendees at Colt vo School last night to boost the Bristol Aircraft Observation Post. Major Donald L. Percy urged full staffing, noting Bristol with 11 000 residents should operate 24 hours. The State Civilian Director and other officials attended as films on observation and pilot training were shown. A Civilian Defense test plan for paratroops and saboteurs was approved by the State Council of Defense.

Bristol County quota for the Second War Loan is set at 636 000 with campaigns led by the War Savings and Victory Fund committees. Edward E Bunn chairs the Victory Fund for Bristol and F Reginald Dimond heads the War Savings drive. Dimond says the quota covers four PT boats and Bristol is expected to bear a large portion due to its war industries. Sales avenues include Post Office banks and payroll deductions.
