Bristol School Committee Re-elects Hamill. Oculist Vacancy Debated

Wilfred M. Hamill was re-elected chairman of the Bristol School Committee at Colt Memorial High School. Dr. Capone was chosen as medical inspector and the oculist position was debated after Dr. Mersman offered free pupil eye surveys, with a vote to fill the post delayed until a letter was read. The town also voted to hold in abeyance the new fire alarm system pending adjustments to the old system amid concerns from volunteer fire companies. Continuous discussion centered on ensuring eye safety without disrupting fire response.
