Discontinue illegal operation case after costs payment
The illegal operation case against Dr John Lake Jr was discontinued after payment of costs by Judge Benjamin F Lindemuth in Fifth District Court. Police Chief Richard J Kavanaugh said the defendant had been secretly indicted by the grand jury. The physician was arrested December 27 for performing an illegal operation on Miss May Baumgarter of Attleboro Mass She died hours later in a Pawtucket hospital. The only civil case on the docket Adv continues. Mrs Mary J Condon hosts Hope Circle whist at Church street tomorrow evening in the fifth weekly session. Mrs Norman F E Vermette is chairing a bingo party planning committee for Hope Circle to be held April 20 at the K of C Home.
