Federal officers raid a grocery at 219 Wood Street on April 3. Joseph and Samuel Campanella are charged with unlawful liquor possession and manufacture and possession of property for liquor. Fall From Third Story Window Injures But Not Seriously
Clyde Pyne a steel worker on the Mount Hope bridge fell from a third story window of the Church Street House. He landed on his head and shoulders but showed no broken bones. He returned to the streets later and reported chest pains and possible internal injuries. An X ray was planned to assess damage. Earlier a six year old child also fell from a third story spot on Usher street but was uninjured.

Kearney Post No 6 of the American Legion held a semi monthly meeting at the Hope street headquarters. The group voted to send letters to senators and representatives urging support for the Universal Draft Bill before the House. They also sponsored a junior baseball team for boys under 17 and named committees for Memorial Days Rehearsal and Radio Entertainment with tickets in high demand for the April 17 event at Guiteras Memorial school.

Easter Observance Draws Thousands to Town Churches
Easter services filled all town churches with large congregations. A morning thunder shower gave way to sun and warm weather, boosting outfits on display. Bristol welcomed thousands of out of town motorists viewing the Mount Hope bridge approach with long car lines on Hope High Wood and Ferry streets and some police directing traffic. Only two minor accidents were reported.

Arrest in Bristol Neck Transport Case
John T. Francis Jr who runs a farm at Metacom Avenue corner Narrows Road was arrested by State Troopers on Hope Street Bristol Neck Sunday evening for unlawfully transporting Mr Francis. The liquor and automobile were turned over to Federal authorities. He was arraigned before U S Commissioner Peter C Cannon at Providence and held in 1000 dollars bail for U S District Court action.

Volunteer fire companies fought a blaze on the roof of the State Street M. E. Church after sparks from a chimney burned a foot wide hole. The alarm was sounded at 11 55 o clock and recalled at 12 55 o'clock.
