Muriel Trudell a Colt Memorial High School junior has been selected by Kearney Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary as its Girls State delegate. She will attend government sessions at the State Capitol tomorrow and Thursday with delegates from other units. The program includes reception by Governor Vanderbilt, House and Senate activities, and a state legislation lecture.

Girls urged to learn machine operation at Bristol schools

John Lawson Dies Suddenly Rhode Island Manufacturer
John Lawson longtime Bristol summer resident and deputy leader in the Hemphill Lawson firm died suddenly at the Providence Biltmore aged 66. He built Hemphill Manufacturing into a major Pawtucket enterprise and later led Lawson Products Inc as president and treasurer. Survived by wife Louisa Hemphill Lawson daughter Mrs Richard Bates son Robert H Lawson six sisters and six grandchildren.
