Stay At Home Christians Say Church Shortfall In Easter Faith

Canon Bernard Iddings Bell argues in Atlantic Monthly that only about one third of U S adults attend church on Easter. He says science alone cannot guide moral life and many citizens seek deeper spiritual guidance beyond conventional church life. The real fault, he adds, is that the church is not religious enough to answer deep human need.

Stay-at-Home Christian and the Call for Church Leadership

In this reflection the author argues that Christianity’s appeal rests on a clear life model and a permanent communal organism with God. The piece calls for decisive leadership and personal commitment to sustain the church’s mission.
