Age rule would require observer and safety gear for water skiing
A proposed amendment from the Chafee administration requests a minimum observer age of 12 for boats towing water skiers. It would require the skier to wear an approved life saving device and for such device to be aboard the boat, improving assistance availability beyond the current rule that only mandates an observer in addition to the vessel operator.
