Motion Pictures at State Armory on Anti Aircraft Film

Public invited to free exhibition of photographs and a moving picture showing the tactical use of anti aircraft. Next Tuesday at 8 pm at the State Armory Church street Bristol. Admission is free and all Battery C members and townspeople may attend to gain interest and instruction.

Reba Lodge Hosts District Deputy Visit

Reba Rebekah Degree Lodge No. 12 I O O F welcomed District Deputy President Mrs Adah Watson and officers from Providence for an official visitation. Remarks were given by the visitors and two members Mrs Ann Seymour and William H Saunders were wished congratulations on their birthdays. The lodge accepted an invitation to join United Brothers Lodge for church services at St Michael's Church on Sunday evening April 26.

Bristol Coast Artillery unit Battery C of the 243d C A is preparing for a formal guard mount exhibition at the Cranston Street Armory Providence on May 4 before the Commander in Chief Governor Norman S Case and other military figures. The Reynolds School Adventure Club staged a Wednesday afternoon program titled Teacher's Pet. Robert Tourigney played the teacher role with Irene Gallo Clara Perry Clinton Pendleton Clyde Pendleton and Janette McCaw also featured. Barbara Daignault and Theresa Vaccaro read poems while Rhoda Hobson and Robert Tourigney performed piano solos.

James P Fay a Bristol Post Office letter carrier, completed 25 years with the U S Post Office Department. Postmaster William M Connery presented a basket of flowers as fellow workers offered congratulations including a letter praising Fay for his service and cheerful conduct over a career spanning five postmasters.

Bristol County Base Ball League Meeting Notice

The Bristol County base ball league will hold a meeting Saturday at 8 o'clock by the Central Fire Station in the Town Hall Warren. Easter morning services feature the new Hook and Hastings organ with special preludes and postludes by Mrs. Cora Shaw Anderson. The service includes a sermon on The Unconquered Comrade and baptisms, plus a church quartet performance of Christ Our Passover and Victory. An Easter sunrise at Mt Hope Bay led by Rev. Herbert D. Rotarian talk backs World Court push by Rich of Boston

Raymond T. Rich, secretary of the Massachusetts Citizens' Committee on the World Court, told the Rotary Club that the United States should join the World Court now that conditions are met. He outlined court composition, noted 56 nations belong, and listed those not in the court, arguing for peaceful dispute resolution.

Train of Artillery Elects Merriman To Command For Fourth Term

Bristol Train of Artillery holds its 155th annual meeting at the State Street armory. Dr. Alfred M. Merriman is re elected colonel commanding for the fourth time with Lt. Col. Edwin S. Godfrey and Major William McKechnie among battalion officers. Officers announced for staff include Edward L. Leahy as judge advocate Henry A. Hambrick as plans and training officer and James J. Velleca as paymaster. Also noted are Battery B C and D officers and a forthcoming operetta benefit performance of Chimes of Normandy on April 16 and 17.
