Last evening in Willett the Methodists held services for Rev. Wm. B. Hoyt and wife and Rev. J. Benham and wife as they depart as missionaries for Africa. Addresses were given by Bishop Jones and others. the group leaves for Philadelphia to attend a missionary meeting before boarding to Monrovia.

Albany port docks crowded with ships and cargoes
The Albany Evening Journal reports not less than 140 sloops and schooners at the docks on Monday morning, discharging cargoes alongside steam tow and canal boats. In Mexico there are 3500 secular clergy and 1000 nuns owning property valued at 100 million dollars. An eighteen month old daughter of John H. Walter of Gardner Massachusetts choked on chestnuts and died before Dr. Carpenter could reach her.
