Seventh Son Doctor Henry West Dies at Hallsville Residence

Dr. Henry West known as a Seventh Son Doctor died at his Hallsville home on Friday at about 78. He drew patients from New England Canada New York and the far west and treated ailments with faith based curative methods rather than medicine. He would place a small can on the patient’s neck lay hands before sunrise and after sunset and seek divine aid. He charged no fee yet accepted gifts and once a New York family left a hundred dollar bill after benefiting from his care. His death leaves a large estate and a loss mourned by neighbors and townspeople per the Manchester Mirror.
