About one o'clock on Sunday morning last, Mrs. Edith Hall of Cricklade Wiltshire was awakened as two ruffians dressed in smock frocks entered her bedchamber window. One intruder carried a pistol and a cutlass. The assault aimed to raid the house and valuables.
