Mrs J S McCoy and granddaughter visited Galesburg Saturday. Edna Hasselbacher visited Shane school where cousin Dorothy Plack teaches Thursday. Yessie Bell spent the weekend with home folks. Edith and Earl Carter spent Saturday with Hazel Bell. Robert and Junior Purcell visited Earl and Lawrence Hasselbacher Saturday afternoon. C A Welch and family visited Fred Wyrman Sunday afternoon. Laura church bazaar and chicken dinner draws crowd
Laura M. E. church ladies held their annual bazaar and dinner on Wednesday September 23, raising 210.00. The event featured a program with piano solos, an invocation by Rev. Lee, an address, and a duet, followed by races nail driving pie eating and horse shoe pitching. Organizers thanked nearby towns and attendees and invited all back next year with a larger program.
