The Red Cross spends 10000 to aid ex service families while the Brimfield Branch stages a mass meeting Saturday at the Community Building. Des Robinson of the Madison theatre and Venard Studio Co. supply a seven reel film show free of charge with speakers and music. Admission is free and all are invited to attend.

Mary Jane Kellogg born July 22 1841 in Cattaraugus County New York died October 31 1921 at her daughter’s home in Shelby Iowa aged 80 years 3 months and 9 days She moved with her parents to Carroll County then Brimfield Peoria County in 1851 She married Wm A Lawson February 23 1859 he died October 18 1880 A Civil War veteran they had three children Geonard L died in 18% two daughters Mrs Snyder of Shelby and Lilly Martha of Galesburg IL survive The Lawson home was with her daughter since 1999 She joined Shelby Methodist Church by transfer and remained a faithful member despite illness Funeral at Shelby M E church November 3 officiated by Rev J H Findley with burial in Shelby Cemetery The town records praise her cheerfulness patience and faithfulness”
