Nicholas Nelson Reinhart born March 26 1860 at Kickapoo died May 16 1918 at St Francis Hospital Peoria His family moved to a Brimfield area farm then Elmwood in 1917 He married Margaret Gillen Jan 10 1872 and had seven children Anna Ryan Frances Fully Nellie Blandy Mart Nicholas and another Nicholas plus twenty one grandchildren Survived by wife Margaret mother Catherine siblings and in laws Funeral May 18 at St Josephs Brimfield burial Calvary cemetery pall bearers listed
Memorial Day program at the village park begins in the afternoon with music by the Band Song-America. Rev Varney Jacobs delivers invocation and Rev Murry of Morton gives addresses. Readings include General Orders and Report of Decorating Committees. The Band performs and a march to the cemetery follows with Lincoln's Gettysburg Address by Dr J OQ Moore and address by Rev W Scott.
Mary T Blanchard daughter of Ira and Vondicia Blanchard was born January 31 1836 in Kingsfield Maine and died May 24 1918 at her daughter’s home in Mt. Vernon Iowa aged 62 years 3 months 28 days The Blanchard family emigrated west arriving in Chicago before 1841 then moved by stage to Peoria County Illinois before rail lines reached the region On June 21 1851 she married Dr W J Frazer a Presbyterian pioneer preacher of Illinois Frazer rode through eastern Iowa surveying lands before marriage and together the couple preached and ministered across eastern Iowa progressing to Kirksville Missouri before settling in the Mineosh river region The narrative notes slavery debates and political tensions shaping their family path
Mrs Laura Fraser Brooks who lived in Illinois before her death on January 10 1881 left seven children with two surviving, George L Fraser and Mrs Laura Fraser Riattie. She joined Presbyterian life early then Methodist and served with church life and family care, with a motto The Lord had done great things for me whereof I am glad. Funeral services were held in Brimfield with burial in the family lot.
The Red Cross ladies will meet at o clock today with cap and spros to take part in the Memorial day parade.
