Notice of Town Meeting and Election in Jubilee Township

Voters in Jubilee Township Peoria County Illinois are warned of the annual township meeting and officers election to be held Tuesday April 4 with a 6:00 am to 5:00 pm vote at the Jubilee Townhouse. Officers include Supervisor Clerk Assessor Collector Justice of the Peace two Constables one or two School Trustees and a cemetery trustee to be elected at the town meeting. The town meeting opens 2:00 pm at the Townhouse after a moderator is chosen to hear officer reports approve expenses and discuss lawful measures. Given March 22 1933.

Brimfeld 4 H Club Forms First Meeting

The Brimfeld 4 H club held its first meeting on Thursday evening March 9 in the commercial building. Officers chosen were Fritz Luthy president Jove Blundy vice president Gerald Moon secretary and treasurer and Jimmie Harding reporter. The projects for entry include dairy calves baby beef market barrows litters gifts and colts. The next meeting is set for April 14 in the commercial building at 7 30 p m with Jimmie Harding as reporter.

Mrs. Alonzo T. Steele Buried in French Grove

Mary Virginia Coe Reed Steele daughter of Joseph and Rachael Coe was born May 10 1855 in Steuben Ville Ohio and died March 24 in DeLong at 77 years 10 months 24 days. She married Commodore A. Reed in 1875 and after his death in 1918 had six children, later marrying Alonzo T Steele in 1923. Survived by children grandchildren great grandchildren sisters and brothers, with services at French Grove Presbyterian and DeLong Congregational churches and burial in French Grove cemetery.

Illinois imposes 3 percent consumer tax on sales

The state will levy a 3 percent tax on all cash and credit purchases starting April 1. Merchants must not imply tax not included in price or face penalties. Brimfield merchants eye collection schemes as many sales are under 25 cents. Emma Farnum Rites Held in Brimfield at 90

Funeral services for Mrs Emma Virginia Shane Farnum were conducted Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Brimfield with Rev. Thomas Spencer officiating. Interment followed in Brimfield Cemetery. Mrs Farnum, born October 17, 1842, died March 26, 1933 in Joliet at age 90. she leaves three daughters, five grandchildren, a sister-in-law, and numerous relatives.

Relatives report the death of Maxie J. Parker at his Glendale home on March 1. He is mourned by his wife Marcella Reed Parker and their young son Robert. Funeral services were held in Glendale on Wednesday March 15. Mrs Parker is the daughter of Henry Reed of Peoria.
