Election to be held at Village Hall Engine Room Brimfield Peoria Illinois for President and three Village Trustees. Polls open 6:00 AM close 5:00 PM. Dated Brimfield March 8 1933. Village Clerk H B Bowman
Voters in Jubilee Township Peoria County Illinois are warned of the annual township meeting and officers election to be held Tuesday April 4 with a 6:00 am to 5:00 pm vote at the Jubilee Townhouse. Officers include Supervisor Clerk Assessor Collector Justice of the Peace two Constables one or two School Trustees and a cemetery trustee to be elected at the town meeting. The town meeting opens 2:00 pm at the Townhouse after a moderator is chosen to hear officer reports approve expenses and discuss lawful measures. Given March 22 1933.

Martha Jean Scott reports Van Nuys fared better than 1930 with little damage in Los Angeles, though Long Beach suffered destroyed homes and unsafe structures. George Neikirk in Los Angeles recalls the tremor’s intensity, falling bricks, cracked bottles, and widespread jitters as downtown walls and schools showed damage.
Monical News reports visits and moves including Mr and Mrs R J Brimblecom and Mr and Mrs Harold Alford and daughter in Williams field. Ed Miers Doris Duffy and Ethel Sturm were in Peoria. Wesley Sears moved to the M E parsonage. Wm Kemp bought the former Sears building. Various residents visited Peoria and Kewanee. Camp siblings and La Rue families appear in multiple reader notices.
Laura presents Skippy Sees Things Through at Raymonds hall on Saturday evening April 1 with Lamphere's Orchestra of Galesburg providing music. Admission is 10 and 20 cents. Several local social notes follow including visits and gatherings in Elmwood Toulon Williamsfield and Monica.
The Brimfeld 4 H club held its first meeting on Thursday evening March 9 in the commercial building. Officers chosen were Fritz Luthy president Jove Blundy vice president Gerald Moon secretary and treasurer and Jimmie Harding reporter. The projects for entry include dairy calves baby beef market barrows litters gifts and colts. The next meeting is set for April 14 in the commercial building at 7 30 p m with Jimmie Harding as reporter.

Committees appointed to oversee church repairs gathered at the French Grove church Wednesday afternoon. Various locals including Miss Gladys Garter from Peoria Heights and the Adams family of Canton were noted as visitors and callers. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Jennie Doe Reed Steele of Delong, with many relatives attending. The W M Carter home hosts the focal unit on April 6. Dorothy Swig to teach on mattress and pillow care. 4 H leaders from Laura, French Grove and Paradise Chapel gather at the McClellan home Friday.
Mary Virginia Coe Reed Steele daughter of Joseph and Rachael Coe was born May 10 1855 in Steuben Ville Ohio and died March 24 in DeLong at 77 years 10 months 24 days. She married Commodore A. Reed in 1875 and after his death in 1918 had six children, later marrying Alonzo T Steele in 1923. Survived by children grandchildren great grandchildren sisters and brothers, with services at French Grove Presbyterian and DeLong Congregational churches and burial in French Grove cemetery.
The state will levy a 3 percent tax on all cash and credit purchases starting April 1. Merchants must not imply tax not included in price or face penalties. Brimfield merchants eye collection schemes as many sales are under 25 cents. County Leaders Schools discuss 4-H girls club work with events in Trivoli Peoria and Brimfield this month and for girls ages ten to twenty to join.
Funeral services for Mrs Emma Virginia Shane Farnum were conducted Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Brimfield with Rev. Thomas Spencer officiating. Interment followed in Brimfield Cemetery. Mrs Farnum, born October 17, 1842, died March 26, 1933 in Joliet at age 90. she leaves three daughters, five grandchildren, a sister-in-law, and numerous relatives.
Relatives report the death of Maxie J. Parker at his Glendale home on March 1. He is mourned by his wife Marcella Reed Parker and their young son Robert. Funeral services were held in Glendale on Wednesday March 15. Mrs Parker is the daughter of Henry Reed of Peoria.
Miss Emma Hoffman daughter of Mr and Mrs Ferdinand Hoffman of Morton marries Charles R Drysdale son of the late William Drysdale in a 10 30 a m First Baptist parsonage ceremony. Rev G W Chessman officiates. Attendants are Dena L Dietrich and J W Becker. The Drysdales plan home at 909 East Arcadia Avenue after May 1.
The American Weekly magazine features the novel Big Times as a standout of the year. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kelly travel from Chicago for the weekend, joined by Mrs. T. F. Maher. Lucille Maher returns to Chicago with the group.
Tax books available until April 15 with April 12 marked as the last day for collection. Delinquent taxes are due May 11. Personal tax on demand in Irving, Bragg Collector.
