Reed in 1875 and after his death in 1918 had six children, later marrying Alonzo T Steele in 1923. Survived by children grandchildren great grandchildren sisters and brothers, with services at French Grove Presbyterian and DeLong Congregational churches and burial in French Grove cemetery.

Emma Farnum Rites Held in Brimfield at 90
Funeral services for Mrs Emma Virginia Shane Farnum were conducted Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Brimfield with Rev. Thomas Spencer officiating. Interment followed in Brimfield Cemetery. Mrs Farnum, born October 17, 1842, died March 26, 1933 in Joliet at age 90. she leaves three daughters, five grandchildren, a sister-in-law, and numerous relatives.
