A benefit card party sponsored by past presidents of the Peoria County Home Bureau will be held at Radnor Grange Hall on March 24 at 8:00 pm. Tickets cost 50c including lunch and door prints. Proceeds will go to the 4H Camp Fund. Everyone welcome. All games played. Tickets available at the door.

SteinfeldtTokar Misa Bismabeth Louise daughter of Rey and Mrs Arthur L Steinfeldt of Palatine united in marriage to John Tokar of Gary on February 12 at First Methodist Church Palatine. Bride wore eggshell satin gown with pearl trim and carried red rose bouquet. Groom a student at Northwestern University. Couple to reside in Rogers Park.
Luther G. Vale retired farmer of Sterling died Saturday evening March 12 in Stu. He was born March 10 1889 in Brown County and lived most of his life there except years in Colorado. He leaves son Francis Vale a local grocer and granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Vale. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Christian Church at Sterling conducted by Pastor Red Brown. Burial was in Hersman Cemetery.
The Laura Clinic for physical exams and immunizations is set for Thursday at 1 40 pm at the Taura School. Dr B E Hanson of Princeville will lead assisted by a public health nurse. Preschool children and those in 4th and 8th grades must be examined and immunized. all area families are welcome. Fees include 1 for the exam and 50c for each vaccine dose.
Plans are under way for the BHS Alumni Association annual meeting on April 9. Tickets from ticket committee chair Mr. Wera or by mail from Micra George Taylor. reservations by April 2. Committees include Blundy, Mc Gow, Archibald, Mem les, Irene Taylor for invitations. Nominating Fabian Gahill, Joseph Carroll, Gene Coyle. Decorations, Program, and Registration groups named with multiple members.
Petitions for candidates to the District 303 Board of Education may be obtained from Charles T. Bayer, secretary. Petitions must be signed and filed by March 19, 1955. Election set for April 9, 1955. Incumbents Kenneth Hamilton and Thos L. Maher term expirations.
The PTA gathers at 7 30 Thursday evening March 17 at the high school. Mr and Mrs C Sendall of Rimwood present photographs from their European trip.
Joseph's Church sponsors a dance at the school gym on March 17 with dancing starting at 8 30 pm. Admission asks a 5 percent donation.
The Peska County Home Bureau schedules a semi annual Graft Day on Friday March 18 at Glen Oak Pavilion from 1 to 3 pm. Announced crafts include sewing, darning, enamel on copper, copper tooling demonstrations, and reupholstering with foam. Bring lunch and a thermos of coffee.
The Legion Auxiliary schedules an all day sewing meeting on Tuesday March 22 starting at 10 am with a two pot lunch at noon. A regular business meeting is planned for Thursday March 28 at 2 pm.
Brimfield Home Bureau schedules a Friday April meeting at 1:30 hosted by Coline. Major lesson on Entertaining Guests at the Family Table by Mrs Berniece Emeriet. Planning for 1956 season includes Posram.
Mr and Virla Francis Vale and Elisabeth Ane thank friends and neighbors for cards letters and gifts received during their bereavement. They acknowledge expressions of sympathy from the Howers and others and extend gratitude for support at the hospital and at home.
A resident physician will open a combined office and residence in Brimfield on April 3. Dr K Visacius, formerly with the government hospital at Jacksonville, will move in with his wife and two children, occupying the property once owned by Dr Welsh. A local citizen group has subscribed funds to purchase the house and forms a committee led by Ira Martin Reed Blundy and Leo Schelkopf to manage the venture.
The Brimfield Cub Scouts Paes 153 sponsor a center and box social Saturday night March 19 at 7 30 at the Millbrook Grange Hall. Cake and games for everyone promised. RNA meets March 25 with Mrs Anna Moon. Mayor Bardipy basa returned from Dwight Veterans Hospital.
