County Home Bureau Sponsors Benefit Party

Vale of Sterling Dies After Long Life in Brown County

Luther G. Vale retired farmer of Sterling died Saturday evening March 12 in Stu. He was born March 10 1889 in Brown County and lived most of his life there except years in Colorado. He leaves son Francis Vale a local grocer and granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Vale. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Christian Church at Sterling conducted by Pastor Red Brown. Burial was in Hersman Cemetery.

Laura Clinic Holds Immunization and Examination Day

The Laura Clinic for physical exams and immunizations is set for Thursday at 1 40 pm at the Taura School. Dr B E Hanson of Princeville will lead assisted by a public health nurse. Preschool children and those in 4th and 8th grades must be examined and immunized. all area families are welcome. Fees include 1 for the exam and 50c for each vaccine dose.

New Physician to Open Office in Brimfield Area

A resident physician will open a combined office and residence in Brimfield on April 3. Dr K Visacius, formerly with the government hospital at Jacksonville, will move in with his wife and two children, occupying the property once owned by Dr Welsh. A local citizen group has subscribed funds to purchase the house and forms a committee led by Ira Martin Reed Blundy and Leo Schelkopf to manage the venture.
