Chas L Duogas, president, swears the Illinois Peoria bank statement is true. The report lists cash on hand 5523.00, gold 377.50, silver 17.75, minor coin 231.00, deposits 205306.22, and total resources 246,57,355.086.63 with liabilities totaling 365,086.63 including capital stock 50,000 and surplus 6,000.00.
French Grove area residents and friends were active with weekend visits and travels. Names include Oakes, Reed, Waite, Auten, Coolidge, Bondi, Butterwick, Moore, Vollmer, Purcell, Cree, Jones and others visiting relatives in Galena, Peoria, Newton, Princeville, Mt. Pleasant, Abingdon, and Chicago.

Mary Margaret Medi Harding born July 19 185 and died June 18 1917 at Brimfield Illinois. She married Adam Harding January 6 1869 and they had five children John Daniel Katherine James William two died in infancy. Surviving husband four sisters twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral at St Josephs church conducted by Rev W G Irish. Buried Calvary cemetery.
Brimfield hosts an old time choose up ball game for able bodied men at 2 pm in the school yard on July 4. Players form two sides with reserves, followed by a free for all foot race if exemptions are claimed. Contests for youths include three legged, pack, and jug races depending on time after the main event the balgame ends.
