The Kelloggs enjoyed supper with sister Miss Gertrude Kellogg and many relatives. Special note this year was dedication of new physical education building at concert of combined glee clubs with 2400 in attendance. On return trip Tuesday, Robdah and Gertrude joined a Morton Arboretum visit.
Brevities note that Aydelle Grossaint visits Phyllis Rook and Norma Spurgeon this week. Earl Moas faces dissent as a June 29 draftee, though he has long worked in Peoria. Larl Stine and Bert Stine host relatives in Delmar, Iowa, sharing a family raymon as Harlene returns home after a three week visit with grandparents.
The County of Peoria urges voters to register in person for all future primaries general or special elections where state officers are nominated or elected. Registration available at the County Election Registration Room Room 38 Court House 8 30 AM to 4 30 PM daily and Saturdays 8 30 AM to 12 Noon through October 5 1942 to prevent delays on the two registration days in the townships.
Evelyn Keaton became Mrs Walter Maher on Tuesday June 11 at 7 45 p m in a ceremony reported from Terre Haute Indiana. Maher is the son of Mr and Mrs Charles Maher and the couple will reside in Chicago where the groom works.
Rosemary Dell of Elmwood and Mr Joan Rook of Brimfield were married in a 3 PM ceremony at the Elmwood Methodist Church on June 20. Rev Oscar Link officiated as music by Mona Mintine and Mia accompanied the candle lit altar. The bride wore eggshell lace with a fingertip veil and carried pink roses. bridesmaid was Phyllis Rook. flower girl Maydelie Grossaint. Best man Bernard German. ushers Douglas Jacobs and Delmar Grossaint. Afterward a reception at the bride’s home, then a short honeymoon. couple to reside near Brimfield. Norbert Pratt joined Navy with 47 others for training in Chicago.
The U S O committees for Mill brook township will conduct a drive to raise funds and call at every home during the week June 29 through July 4. The U S O. supports Soldiers and Sailors with religious services counseling educational and cultural programs in camps. Six agencies participate: YMCA, National Catholic Community Service, Salvation Army, YWCA, Jewish Welfare Board and National Travelers Aid. Solicitors for the school districts include Scot land Mra Richard Heinz French Grove and others. township chairman is Paul Noland.
