Evalyn McGowan announces half hour piano lessons for children under nine and forty five minute seasons for those over nine in Brimfield. The annual piano recital is set for June 24 at 8 30 p m in Brimfield Union Church. program to appear next week.

Sanity Kacer and Ronnie stay at the Kelley home near Brim Seid. The Peterace and Aldrich families visited Bloomington and Ransom. Mrs. Harold Miller and child returned home in Ransom after a stay with relatives.
Items of interest note visiting relatives in Peoria this week. Eugene Coye and Bob Daum traveled from Scott Field for Sunday. Bob received a furlough after returning to Camp Sunday evening and arrived Monday for a longer stay. Vern Gatton at Scott Field earned a new rating and now earns corporal pay after four months in the Army. Mrs. Howard Beall hosted Idle Gour Cieb with three tables of pinochle and a luncheon. guests were local Princeville ladies including Florence Jackson and several others. Frank Tiegs and his children from Bruce Wis visiting Mrs Tiegs’ parents Hugh Miller. Miller family from Philo and Ghiilicothe also gathered for a family reunion at home Monday.
Betty Carter assists Laura elevator bookkeeping while John Wagner visits Mrs Baril Carter. Mrs Carter serves on the sugar rationing committee issuing canning certificates. Local attendees join a Polled Shorthorn sale in Abingdon. Mrs Kellogg plans a Missionary Society program in Elmwood Teresa day showcasing Chinese gifts from Kellogg missionaries. French Grove Festival yields cash for Cemetery Association.
The Laura Winners 4 H Club met at the Forest Oakes home with nine members and five visitors. Members with garden projects were told to clean them for scoring this month. Fat stock and dairy judging wer to be held soon. Deliberations covered beet call equipment hog houses hog crop hog market push and games led by Ruth Ann Oakes. Reporter Dorothy Kellogg.
Brimfield Girls 4 8 club met at leader Mrs Julius Shaw’s home on June 2. President Earlene Collins opened the meeting with all members present. Arlene Shaw spoke on club objectives while Mrs Julius Shaw reviewed food and clothing clauses from training school. Shirley DeGroot read aloud, Ann Maher played electric guitar, games followed, refreshments served, and plans were set for future meetings including Monday June 15.
William T Kerr outlines proper flag handling for the 165th Anniversary of Old Glory. He emphasizes blue field forward on a large horizontal march, speaker’s right, flags at left, flag placement in church on congregation’s right, avoidance of drapery, use of bunting, brisk raising and slow lowering, flag on a car staff, and never letting folds touch the ground.
The Sugar Board reports 208 canning sugar applications at the Brimfield office before blanks ran out. New blanks restored, issuing will resume this month. Those who lacked ration card numbers may apply to O. D. Edwards after 6 pm for a certificate. Mrs. Gonella Carter reports 44 families and 174 individuals registered amid demand. Tennry and Mrs Carter will hold three days weekly 9 to 4 for registrations.
