Memorial Day Observed in Brimfield with Notable Sermons
Memorial Day was properly observed in Brimfield with a large crowd and a detailed Relief Corps program. Rev. R. A. Harris delivered an afternoon address hailed as one of the best here, while Rev. E. E. Diffenbaugh gave the annual Memorial sermon on Sunday morning, May 27, to a large attentive audience. The cemetery supper netted $11.00 and the American Legion earned $18 from a picture show titled Flashes of Action. Mrs. Mattie Backus, patriotic instructor for the W A C, was praised for organizing the fine program.
